HI, I’M BALESENG
“BAILEY” IF YOU KNOW ME…
It all started with a simple, no-code website, and trying to create a digital space for my pre-teen self.
From hours of scrolling through Google search results in 2002, looking for the perfect website hosting platform, to blogging my way out of high school bullying, depression, and after university, finally starting my journey as a paid content writer… The internet has always been a refuge for me. A place to feel connected to the world around me. A place to help others and to receive help.
I don’t get a lot of things… But I do get not fitting in.
In my chaotic journey, I started businesses, pursued law and forensic investigation, and am now teaching entrepreneurship.
Despite my newfound freedom after resigning from my very first job, I lacked direction and questioned my choices.
So…
I spent a year bumming around, sleeping on my sister’s sofa and even started a business with her.
Time went by and I desperately started craving my own money — all business profits had been going directly to my sister.
That’s when freelancing found me…
BEHIND THE SCREEN
I didn’t always have this business: the clients, the sales, the hundreds of downloads...
I had:
- Dropped out of Medical School
- Started an e-commerce business and digital magazine
- Finally admitted to myself that I wanted to attend law school & specifically understand corporate law & financial accounting, and
- Decided to simultaneously qualify as a forensic investigator — on top of being a corporate law student,
All while concomitantly working for Fortune 500 Companies as an independent contractor, copywriter, and digital content creator living the “laptop lifestyle”...
(I probably sound annoying!)
